NIMHANS Seeks Research Assistants for Collaborative Project on Perinatal Mental Health
The National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS) Bangalore is seeking applications for Research Assistant positions to work on a collaborative project with the National Perinatal Epidemiology Unit (NPEU) at the University of Oxford. The project, titled “Perinatal Mental Health in India: A Validation and Cohort Study,” will explore the prevalence and impact of mental health issues during pregnancy and postpartum in India.
Number of Positions:
- Research Assistant Senior: 1
- Research Assistant: 1
Desirable Qualifications:
- MD Psychiatry or PhD in Clinical Psychology/Psychiatric Social Work/Psychiatric Nursing for Research Assitant Senior.
- M.Phil. in Clinical Psychology or M.Phil. in Psychiatric Social Work or MSc in Psychiatric Nursing/Psychology with two years of Clinical experience for Research assistant.
- Proficiency in Kannada language (reading, writing, and speaking) for both.
Maximum Age Limit:
- 35 years
Emoluments:
- Research Assistant Senior: Rs. 78,000/- per month (consolidated)
- Research Assistant: Rs. 39,000/- per month (consolidated)
Duration of the Project:
- 32 months
Initial Appointment:
- 6 months, renewable on a performance-based basis
Important Note:
- If a suitable candidate for the Senior Research Assistant position is not found, the post will be converted into two Junior Research Assistant positions.
