The Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (IMHANS) is a self-governing organization within the Government of Kerala that has been chosen by the Government of India to develop into a center of excellence in mental health. IMHANS is a postgraduate training facility connected to the Kerala, University of Health Sciences (KUHS) and operates in close association with the Govt. Medical College (GMHC) in Kozhikode.
Currently, online applications are being invited to be submitted to the Director, LBS Centre for Science and Technology via the website for admission to the M.Phil. programs in Clinical Psychology and Psychiatric Social Work at IMHANS for the academic year 2023–2025.

The pattern of Entrance Examination:
- No. of Questions: 75
- Total Marks: 75 + 25 (Interview)
- Time: 60 minutes
- Negative Marking: 0.25
- Syllabus: Research Methodology and Statistics, Psychological Testing, Biological basis of behavior, and Human development and interventions.

Eligibility Criteria:
M.Phil. in Clinical Psychology:
A two-year full-time regular M.A. or M.Sc. degree in psychology from a university accredited by the UGC with a minimum of 55% overall marks (per RCI guidelines) is the minimum educational qualification for admission to this course. The SC/ST category requires a minimum of 50% of total marks, according to the Government of India (GOI).
M.Phil. in Psychiatric Social Work (PSW):
Applicants for the M.Phil. PSW program must have completed a two-year full-time MA/MSW program in social work from an accredited university, with a focus on either mental health or medical and psychiatric social work, or have completed at least one course paper on mental health that included clinical exposure in psychiatric settings.
Also, applicants must have earned at least 55% of the possible points towards the master’s degree overall through regular study methods.
Applicants may also apply if they were present for the qualifying course’s final semester or year. However, the documents will be required at the time of final admission.
Total No. of Seats: 8 for each of the programs.
Course Duration: Both courses are full-time and can extend to 2 academic years.
Application Fee:
- General Applicants: Rs. 1500/-
- SC/ST Applicants: Rs. 1250/-
Application Submission: Applications can be submitted in several phases. must finish each step within the allotted time frame.
Registration & Application Fee Payment:
- Applicants must go to the website, select the New Candidate link, and register by providing their personal information.
- Using the application number, you received after registering, you can pay the application fee online or at any Federal Bank branch between October 18, 2023, to November 9, 2023, by using the challan you produced online at the time of registration.
- Those who pay the application fee online can move on to the next step of the application submission process.
- But those who paid their application cost by challan can proceed after 24 hours by visiting the website and inputting their payment information.
- Applicants must maintain the absolute confidentiality of their registration ID, password, and application number.
