Samir sharma was famously known for his role as ‘shaurya maheshwari’ in ‘yeh rishtey kya kehlate hai’ and as ‘Krishna Agarwal’ in ‘kahani ghar ghar ki’. The 44-year old actor made his television debut with STAR ONE’s ‘Dil Kya chahta hai’ in 2005.
Samir sharma was found dead late at night at his residence on 5th August 2020. The case was registered in Accidental Death Report, and his body which was found by his building’s watchman was sent for autopsy later. According to malad police, he had recently rented the Malad apartment in Mumbai, where he was currently residing.
Malad police station’s senior inspector George Fernandes said “We have not found any suicide note at the spot. It seems to be suicide case. It is suspected that he hanged himself two days back. We have sent the body for an autopsy,” in a PTI report.
Incidentally, Samir shared threw light on the condition of people going through depression and fighting mental health issues some are:-
“Last month, Samir had written a profound note on the issue of depression and mental illness. He had written, “Bipolar Disorder, Depression, Schizophrenia etc. Do you know or understand what that means or feels like? no you don’t, unless you’ve been through it yourself. And anybody who hasn’t, will never ever be able to understand what that feels like.” He had added, “Do you understand the meaning of taking your own life? Don’t imagine it, actually try and do it and I swear to God you’ll piss in your pants. The man, who has taken his own life, it’s not the easy way out as most of you think it is.”
On July 20, the actor had shared a short film he made, on his unverified Facebook account. Titled “The Cut”, the effort has been described by the actor as: “A film about the psychological effects of the isolation due to the lockdown on a person living alone.”
