NIMHANS Announces Walk-in Selection for Research Investigator Position

Bengaluru, 11 February 2025 – National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), has called for a walk-in selection for the post of Research Investigator on an open-ended contract basis. This recruitment is for a funded project by the intramural research grant entitled “In the analysis of the mediators between Strengths used at work with work output and satisfaction among health professionals: A cross-sectional study” under the supervision of Dr Narendra Nath Samantaray, at the Assistant Professor level from the Department of Clinical Psychology.

Position Details and Eligibility

The candidate for the post of Research Investigator shall be appointed on a temporary basis for six months and shall be paid a consolidated salary of ₹37,500 per month. Eligibility criteria require a Master’s (MSc or MA) in Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Applied Psychology, Counseling Psychology, or Psychological Counseling. Advanced degree, such as M.Phil. in Clinical Psychology, Mental Health, or Social Psychology, is preferred, but not obligatory.

The candidates must have completed at least one dissertation during their Master’s program and have a flair for Microsoft Office. The age limit for applicants is 35 years.

Selection Procedure and Other Important Information

The selection procedure will comprise a walk-in interview-cum-skill test on March 4, 2025, at 10:00 AM. Candidates must report to the Exam Hall and Board Room of the Academic and Evolution Section, 4th Floor, NBRC Building opposite the Library and Information Centre at NIMHANS, Bengaluru – 560029.

The candidates should bring original hard copies of their resumes and testimonials, along with self-attested photocopies of these documents, in case verification is required. They should report for registration one-half hour prior to the beginning of the written/skill test.

The decision on the final selection of candidates will be based on the merits based on their performance in the written test and skill evaluation, thus selecting the least competent and qualified person to be engaged in a research project.
