National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS) is one of the most renowned centres for mental health, neuroscience, and allied fields. The organisation has announced a vacancy for a “Neuropsychologist” on a contract basis. The post is open for a project funded by NIH named “P-CARRS-BRAIN: Multi-domain (genetic, socio-behavioural, vascular) risk factors and prediction of Alzheimer’s Disease continuum in South Asians in India”. The project is headed by Professor and principal investigator of NIMHANS, Prof. Suvarna Alladi. The duration for the post is one year, though the initial appointment would be for 6 months and based on performance and research requirements, it would be further extended.

Requirement 

The following are the qualifications expected by the candidates applying for the post:

  • PhD in Clinical Psychology (area of work in Neuropsychology)

OR 

  • M.Phil with Clinical Psychology (holding RCI Licence), along with at least 5 years of experience in research (especially in neuropsychology and/or dementia)
  • Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate skills in scientific writing and statistical analysis. Also,o to the applicant with peer-reviewed journal publications. 
  • Age limit: 45 years 

Key Responsibilities

The following are the roles and duties expected of the selected candidate to take over

  • Leading participation and training for psychologists in research training for administering cognitive tests, observation, and recruitment. 
  • Communicate and coordinate among different stakeholders in order to achieve project goals. 
  • Conduct cognitive assessments and research aligning with project objectives 
  • Assist in the follow-up support service delivery of participants wherever required. 

Salary mentioned in the official notice: Rs. 1,16,000/- per month
