TISS to take students in through Cuet PG
At the start of every year, Tata Institute of Social Sciences conducts its TISSNET exam (Tata Institute of Social Sciences National Eligibility Test) for its various postgraduate programs like applied psychology, human resources, social work, other social sciences and many other fields. Students prepare for this test all year long, honing their skills in quantitative aptitude, logical reasoning, English proficiency and general awareness. This was the norm for getting admission to TISS. A key factor for getting admission is one of the top institutions in India.
Recent news declares the decision of TISS to scrap TISSNET altogether. The circular was released by Tata Institute of Social Sciences on 14th November, 2023. The institution has decided to take into consideration scores for the Central University Entrance Exam (CUET). CUET is likely to take place in March or April of 2024.
Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) seems adamant about its decision and will consider the CUET scores as per the UGC guidelines. Students who have obtained their bachelor’s degree and are planning to pursue their Masters in various fields can register for CUET-PG. For these courses, scores from the CAT examination will be considered.

This decision was likely taken to provide a single window of admission for students. While it may be beneficial for students in the coming year, for this particular academic session, the late decision and announcement become troubling for many students.
