NIMHANS Applications for Vacant Posts Under Centre for Action Medicine 

NIMHANS is inviting offline applications, from eligible candidates for the vacant posts of “Social Worker”, “Psychologist” and “Cohort Manager”, which are available on a one-year contract basis under the Centre for Addiction Medicine at NIMHANS in the prescribed form from Indian Nationals.

National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS) is a multidisciplinary organization that conducts patient treatment and research. It is the nation’s top center for instruction in neuroscience and mental health. NIMHANS got recognition of “Institute of National Importance” in 2012.

1. Application for the Post of Social Worker

No. of post: 1(UR) & 1(EWS)

Qualification: M.A. in Social Work/ M.S.W.

Age Limit: 35 years

Consolidated Pay: Rs.25,300/- per month

Duration: One year on a contract basis, and can be further extended to 2 and 3 years depending upon the performance.

2. Application for the Post of Psychologist

No. of post: 1(UR)

Qualification: M.Sc. in Psychology

Age Limit: 30 years

Consolidated Pay: Rs.25,300/- per month

Duration: One year on a contract basis, can be renewed for the 2nd & 3rd year depending upon the performance of duties.

3. Application for the Post of Cohort Manager

No. of post: 1(UR)

Qualification: M.Phil. in Clinical Psychology/Social Work

Age Limit: 30 years

Consolidated Pay: Rs.29,700/- per month

Duration: One year on a contract basis, can be renewed for the 2nd & 3rd year depending upon the performance of duties.

Instructions for the Eligible Candidates

• Candidates should download the application form from the institute website at http://www.nimhans.ac.in and send the necessary copies of certificates for age verification, academic qualification, work experience, and other items at the given address.
• Address: The Registrar, NIMHANS, P.B. Number 2900, Hosur Road, Bengaluru-560029.

• For UR, OBC, and EWS applicants, the prescribed application processing fee is Rs. 590 (including 18% GST). Candidates for SC & ST must pay Rs.295 (including 18% GST) and the payment should be submitted through the “PAYMENT” link on the Institute’s website (http://www.nimhans.ac.in). The detailed payment instructions are available in the Annexure-1.
• PwBD candidates do not have to pay the application fee.

• Incomplete, late, or improperly submitted applications will not receive consideration. For any postal delays, the institute rejects all liability.

• If required, the institute may choose not to fill any or all of the aforementioned positions; in this case, the candidates won’t receive a separate notification.

• The ineligible candidates won’t receive a separate notification.
• Candidates who wish to apply for more than one position should submit separate applications for each position. Additionally, they should provide the transaction or payment information necessary to verify the required application processing fee for each position, as detailed in point no. 3.

• The written exam and skill test that come after it will serve as the basis for choosing the candidates.

In accordance with O.M. No. 36011/1/98-Estt. (Res) dated July 1, 1998, candidates from the restricted categories of OBC, EWS, SC, and ST may also apply for the positions advertised against UR without age restrictions.

Other Important Details for NIMHANS Vacancy Applications

1. For OBC candidates who wish to make a claim against the aforementioned category, the most recent OBC certificate in Annexure A format includes a statement addressing the Creamy Layer. The aforementioned OBC certificate must be in the format specified by the GOI in accordance with OM dated 29.12.1993. Applications won’t be evaluated for the UR Category unless they have the BC/MBC certification and mention the Creamy Layer.
2. The candidates under the Economically Weaker Section must present an Income and Assets Certificate in the appropriate format from the Competent Authority (a copy of which is available on the website notification). Candidates should include the certificate in the application packet when submitting it.
3. If a position designated for EWS can’t be filled because an EWS member who would be a good fit isn’t available, the empty EWS position will be filled under the UR category.
4. The number of openings by category Vacancies could change or could vary at any point during the hiring process.
5. Age restrictions are subject to GOI regulations.
6. Clearly state the name of the position in the application form, and ensure proper labeling and attachment of all enclosures to the application.
