The Department of Mental Health Education at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS) has announced its Conference to be held offline on 20th June 2026. MHECON 2026 invites submissions of abstracts and registration for the conference from students, professionals, researchers, scholars, academicians, and practitioners across disciplines such as social work, education, psychology, public health, media, policy, etc.
The theme of the conference is “Bridging Knowledge, Practice, and Innovation in Mental Health Education”. The platform gives space to the participants for the exchange of research knowledge, innovative approaches, and best practices in the field of education and mental health. The medium of the conference is English, and the venue is Dr M. V. Govindaswamy Centre, NIMHANS, Bengaluru. A preconference is scheduled on 19th June 2026.

Registration Process
Interested participants must register using the link below before submitting the abstract. For registration along with demographic and educational details, a “bona fide” letter from the HOD has to be submitted.

Abstract Submission Guidelines
The following are the points to be considered for abstract submission:
- Pre-requisite of the abstract submission is registration for the conference.
- Participants can submit one or more abstracts; however, only one presenter or one poster per delegate is permitted.
- The certificate would be only in the name of the presenting author
- Abstract Submission must be in English and not more than 300 words.
- The abstract must include the names of the authors, their designations, institutional affiliations, and the email ID of the presenting author.
- Structure of the abstract should consist of title, keywords, background, rationale, sample, hypothesis, key finding, analysis, conclusion, implications for mental health, policy, or practice.
- Submission must be in MS Word with font as Times New Roman, font size as 12, and 1.5 spacing.

Selection Process
The following is the process of selecting the abstract:
- The scientific committee will peer review all the abstract submissions
- Abstracts will be selected for oral or poster presentations based on the review
- The corresponding authors will be notified about the selection through email
- The final decision would be taken by the Scientific Committee
Note – All the selected and presented abstracts will be published in the conference proceedings of MHECON 2026.
