The Institute of Calcutta, often known as Calcutta University and abbreviated as CU, is a public state university situated in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. It consists of 151 affiliated undergraduate colleges in Kolkata and the surrounding areas, as well as 16 institutes. Founded on January 24, 1857, this was the first multidisciplinary university in Southeast Asia and the Indian Subcontinent. Recently, the institute has been organizing a walk-in interview for the post of assistant professor in the Department of Psychology on a contractual basis.
